| Terry | Rated 4:- My first trip with AirTran was not uneventful. I paid an extra $175 for a Biz Class seat on an airplane that does not offer Biz Class! Why does AirTran sell Biz Class seats on CRJ's? I complained and was reinbursed the fare difference, less $35 for the ATL-MCI leg, which did have Biz Class. Be aware of the aircraft you will be flying on when you purchase tickets. I now fly them frequently and highly recommend AirTran to others. |

| Hans Oey | Rated 1:- Nasty planning if you will plan to revolve around Airtran's schedule. Hidden fees will apply while Airtran is trying to fill the airplane, or waiting for the air crew that never gets there on time! |

Rated 4:- We found this airline to be very family friendly. We flew on an evening when there was severe weather, and they did everything to accomodate us, and get us to our destination. One great thing is they let you fly one way without penalty. The only problem that we had with flying one way was that we were automatically picked for security screening. The airport we were flying out of, (Flint, MI) does not have the large screening equipment, therefore all of our bags had to be hand searched, and this took a great deal of time. The staff was very friendly with our children, including letting them visit the cockpit on our landings. I even witnessed the flight attendants making last minute seating changes, in order to accomodate families that were seperated on the plane. This went the extra mile. We would definately fly with this airline again. |

Rated 4:- I have used Air Tran to fly from Chicago to Jacksonville, FL several times. I really like the schedules and the planes are generally clean and comfortable. The staff are very helpful. |

Rated 2:- Traveled with them 6 RT. On time only once. Cancelled flights due to too few passengers twice. Routed to a different airport once. Not customer conscience. |

Rated 4:- Nice, clean, new plane (Boeing 717, not 707!) My flights were on time, and staff was friendly. Only complaint was a long layover in Atlanta. The good news is that there is a Popeye's Chicken on the AirTran concourse, and a Brookstone with a WONDERFUL massage chair. Time went quickly in Atlanta. |

| John | Rated 1:- Airtran Left me in Atlanta, half way thru my trip to Raleigh. The plane had an inverter (power supply) that was going bad and making all of the cabin lights flash. Customer service was terrible both in person and on the phone. I was accused of being a bad customer because I did not stay at the airport and stand in line to be re-booked vs calling on the phone? |

| Bill Parry | Rated 4:- AirTran has gotten most of the old DC9s out of their fleet (Northwest flies more DC9s than AirTran does, both number-wise and as a percentage of total fleet) so most of the old ValuJet planes are gone, replaced with the spiffy new Boeing 707. AirTran was the launch customer for this aircraft, which of course was the modern replacement for the DC9. The only two negative things about AirTran I would note are: (1) most flights hub through Atlanta, which is misery on a busy day -delays up to three hours getting in and out, and (2) they have their own Southwest-style frequent flyer program. And that's not a lot of negative in my opinion. But here are the good things: (1) Mostly new planes. (2) Not in any real financial trouble - actually made money one of the last four quarters. (3) Actually has a first-class cabin and the surcharge is not high. (4) If you get them point-to-point (not involving ATL), that is a real winner and their strongest suit - they are expanding this type of service constantly, such as PHL-PIT and several other overpriced USAir markets. They are challenging aggressively BOTH Delta (via ATL) and also USAirways in many of USAir's most overpriced markets. More power to them. Delta matches many of their Atlanta fares. Yesterday I just got back from flying Delta RDU-ATL-MSP and back. Although the Delta flights were on time and fine, I could have gotten the same pattern for even less money on AirTran, and if I have to do it again I will fly AirTran. (RDU-MSP direct on Northwest, which would have been ideal, was $850+ R/T, go figure.) Anyway, AirTran is here to stay, and they keep the majors honest in many of the markets they serve. Like Southwest, they deserve to be supported. |

| Kathy | Rated 3:- We flew AirTran when Delta got us seats from Phila. to Orlando because of Delta's mechanical difficulties. We had no problems, but it seemed that the interior needed a good cleaning. My boss, her husband and son received free tickets anywhere AirTran flies because of a weather delay lasting more than 24 hours. They had to ask for it, but had read this policy somewhere on AirTran's website. |

| Darrell Kingsbury | Rated 4:- Flown this line several times. Good fares, good schedules, great prices. Even when a flight was late arriving for connections, they usually got us out very quickly and we were not too late in arriving at the destination. I use them as much as possible for savings and convenience. Just added LA, LV, & Memphis. Great deal to Lucaya. |

| Jennifer Radcliffe | Rated 4:- When I was about 19-20, I flew everywhere on their "x-fares" deal. It was great because it only cost $45 each way, but I had to fly standby and could only bring one carry-on bag. Needless to say, I hopped around from place to place (especially to NYC or Boston from Atlanta) on that deal for about a year or two. I have never had any problems with them! |

| Diane Malinski | Rated 1:- We were going from Boston-New Orleans via Baltimore 2/03. The big snowstorm hit the midatlantic and then New England. The Boston employees were incredibly rude and unhelpful. They sent us to United which doesn't accept AirTran reservations. Delta tried to help but the airport closed the next day before we got out. This meant we went back to Air Tran. What was a Saturday am departure ended up being a Wednesday evening departure. There were other problems when we returned to Boston but that gives you enough of the picture. |

| Lynn | Rated 4:- My flight from Flint to Fort Lauderdale via Atlanta was on time, the attendants were pleasant, and the plane was comparable to ones used by the "biggies." My seat was comfortable (I'm 5'6" and weight 130 lbs.) On the return flight, takeoff was about five minutes late and an attendant apologized for the delay. The best part was the price-significantly lower than other carriers out of either FNT or DTW. What's not to like? |

| Ron | Rated 4:- I used them for a Tampa to Miami flight (at less than half the cost of any other carrier). They used smaller jets but left on time, had free juice and granola bar. Both the counter and cabin crew were very friendly. They also changed my flight time on my travel day at no charge! Be aware their baggage allowence uses a smaller size. |

| Leila Handelman | Rated 4:- In April my sister living in San Jose, CA was terminally ill with cancer. We were to fly into San Jose out of Chicago Midway to see her. Suddenly she was hospitalized in Los Angeles while visiting her children. The customer service department of ATA graciously arranged to change the destination city to LA from SJ, waiving the $50/ticket fee, and merely charging $18.50 to upgrade to the new city. |

Rated 3: I hate Air Tran! Webmaster note: So why give them such a high rating then? ;-) These flights are always late, the staff is rude and the seats are uncomfortable. However, this airline has such low prices that make all of the above tolerable. Swallow your desire for good customer service and climb aboard. You'll get there... five hours after your estimated arrival time. |

Rated 3: My flight was on time ( had a 07:00am flight from Tampa to Atlanta and then on to Washington DC). The staff were ok. The seats were extremely small and uncomfortable. This is not the airline for people over 5'8 (my knees were practically into the seat in front of me and I'm only 5'9). If I didn't have a lot of money, I would fly them again, but personally, I would rather spend the extra 20-30 and go with someone else. E :) |
