Warning, going by the comments below and Canadian backpackers I meet who have used them, Jetsgo seems to have a bit of an issue with delayed flights(!):-

M Rated 4:-
I am a jetsgo employee who tries to read the comments our passengers put forth.

I must say that believe me, we know that you are frustrated. Unfortunately, it is often not us that gets to make the calls. We don't have a lot of liberty to do a lot of the stuff that you would like us to do. We are NOT supposed to give out water, we are not supposed to serve food on the ground, etc.

We are just as frustrated as you are with some situations. We can only encourage you to write to the company and eventually they will have to change their policies.

I would just like to ask you to remember that when your plane is late, we have often been on duty the whole time and we are trying our best to keep smiles on our face when you are all unhappy with us. It is not a fun time for us either.

Delayed flights are one thing. Stingy and rude service right down the line is quite another. An insincere smile will not cover up the fact that this is an uncaring and cruel (yes, cruel) airline.

Ladies and Gentleman may i remind you that lost or stolen baggage is not really the fault of jetsgo , nor do the flight attendants deserve to have everything blamed on them when the plane is late because believe it or not its really not their fault, also if you want a pillow, blanket , free food go to another airline and pay $400 more because you probably only paid $50 dollars for your ticket anyways..

I have spent some time this evening on-line reading negative posts about Jetsgo. I feel this is unfair as every airline suffers delays, lost luggage and I just don't get the complaints about air turbulence. Do you think Jetsgo has any control over what goes on at 25,000 feet in the air??

My daughter was studying in Quebec and I flew Air Canada Jazz three times last year to visit her. Twice my luggage was lost and one time I had to wait in Montreal due to ice conditions for several hours. I also went to visit by Via Rail train - luggage was lost in Charny. Apparently it wasn't unloaded and went to Ottawa. So it happens with trains also! Last year I flew Hfx. to Newark, and then on a 20 seat commuter turbo prop to Philadelphia. The plane took off from Newark without any luggage being loaded. Now you would think someone on the tarmac is responsible to check the baggage hold before closing the door! Most people were Americans and would have clothes at home, but I was on a 4 day convention in 90+ heat, high humidity and no luggage for three days.

In April hubbie and I flew from Punta Cana to Halifax on Air Transat and got rerouted to Moncton because of fog, and had to stay in the plane along with 300 other passengers for over three hours while they were trying to decide to bus us to Halifax. No food or water was offered by Air Transat. I just say "suck it up". It's not nice to have these things happen when travelling, but it happens with all airlines and even trains! I just don't think it's fair to have a whole website for negative comments about a particular airline. Oh and in closing, flight attendants sometimes work an 18 hour day with only three hours sleep, so if they seem a little frazzled or cranky, so you would be too if you were on your feet all that time dealing with cranky customers. As my daughter likes to say, "What happens to normal, average people once they get on a plane...they lose all their manners. Must be the lack of oxygen at high altitudes!"

Is there someone out there who was delayed in NY August 30th, 2004. Plane was suppose to fly at 4:30 and was delayed till 10:30. I missed the connection and had to stay overnight. I have been trying to get a letter from them confirming this so I can get the cost of hotel back from my insurance. Not a word from them. Is anyone else in the same boat? Any ideas on how to get a letter? It doesn't cost them a thing. Why are they so poor in customer service.

My boyfriend and I flew from Vancouver to Toronto for a week in August 2004; the tickets cost ca. $900,00 Dollars, which was an "ok deal" we thought at the time! On the way back we got stock in heavy traffic in Toronto and got to Pearson Airport about 20 minutes before flight departure! The first agent at the counter told us that our plane had already left! Then she carelessly ignored and neglected us!

So, I had to beg a different agent to assist us further. After about five minutes of data input he told me to go over to another counter and talk to a third agent! By then those two had already wasted the little time we had left to board our plane! So, the third agent wasted the last 10 minutes for more data input and useless questioning...finally at 3 minutes to 4 o'clock she called the gate and was told that the doors had just been shut!

Therefore our only option was to purchase two tickets on the next flight in FOUR HOURS for "ONLY ANOTHER $830.00 DOLLARS!" When we expressed our dissatisfaction about this option, she gave me a "customer-service" phone number and asked me to step aside! When I called "Customer Service" and explained our situation, the rep told me to consider the option we were given, because there would be nothing else they could do for us!

So, we ended up paying another $830.00 Dollars to come back home! You can imagine how upset and unhappy we are, not only because of the outrages $1800.00 Dollars we paid for two economy tickets from Vancouver to Toronto, but also because of the unprofessional, unhelpful and horrible way we were treated, which Jetsgo dares to call "Customer Service"!

I love them so much. There cabins are always clean and i love that they picked the Airbus because it is small so you get 1 class and can see what is going on in the cabin all around. And I have to say that even though the aircraft is eurpoean i would still fly it. It is not really all french made Mr.Feingersch. Don't be dumb. No i do not like the french but i would not, not fly an airline because of somewhat french made cabins.

Why do you have customer relations if they won't answer questions? She just repeated what I already knew and refused to answer.

NB:- I haven't included it, but attached to his comment is a particularly unhelpful standard reply email from customer service in response to a query in which they have made no effort whatsoever to address his particular query. And he wasn't even complaining to them!

I have flown JETSGO 3 times and yes 1 of the 3 flights was delayed. Now you guys like to complain that JETSGO is always late due to mechanical problems or that they lost your baggage. Now I'm sorry I would rather lose a few hours rather then my life, and you know what there only articals of clothing. Give me a break I'm sure the hotels or the people your staying with have cleaning products or some thing you can wear until you get your stuff.

I have flown AIR TRANSAT many times and you know what???? All those flights were late leaving and coming. You people like crying over a couple of hours of returning home late I have one thing to say to you all CRY ME A RIVER!!!!! JETSGO please keep up all the good work and your reservation agents are very helpful.

The flight to Toronto was late and the weather between both cities was fine. Dirty plane with a rude staff. The check in people were also rude and could care less about you. In Toronto on the return staff did not know what they were doing. My bag almost went to Montreal and after mentioning it nicely to the agent she turned snotty. Who needs it ? this is a Yahoo airline. PATHETIC AT BEST

I have nothing bad to say about this airline.

There was a schedule change to my flight and Melissa who works for Jetsgo called to tell me about it. She was very perfessional about the whole deal. The flight that they had moved me to did not fit my schedule so Melissa moved me to a new one free of charge saying that because Jetsgo made the changes so I wouldn't have to pay the penelties. My flight was on time I got all my bags the in flight staff as well as the girls working at the counter were all very nice. All I can say is Jetsgo keep up all the good work. You guys know what your doing and your doing a wonderful job. Thanks again Melissa.

I flew this airline from Winnipeg to Toronto last week without problems. I can only write as I find, and I found no cause for complaint whatsoever.

Talking to my Canadian friends, they don't have any more problems with Jets Go than with any other budget airline, and their fares are often cheaper. Apparently they had a lot of 'teething problems' when they started out, but are now getting their act together.

Here you are, all complaining about this and that. Have you all realized that this is a “Discount airline”. Most of you probably paid 39$ for your tickets. I flew with Jetsgo and it was one of the most enjoyable trips I have ever taken. I fly a lot around the world with many different airlines and Jetsgo is one of the best in my opinion. As for some comments I can see that there is a lot of frustration, you must put things in perspective. Is this really the worst thing that can happen, lost luggage? I mean really, there are worst thing in the world that could happen. I would fly Jetsgo anytime and recommend them to anyone. I thought I should write this to come to Jetsgo defense all anyone ever writes is the negative; no one ever says the Positive. Cheers Jetsgo to many more years of success.

just flew from Toronto on July6th to Vancouver for my business trip, when I finished my rush pack out I realized that I did not put in my cigarette, so I packed 3 packs in one of my outter small zip bag...sh*t...when I checked in hotel and opened my suitcase, my three packs are gone....someone "stolen" it, I understand for security reason that have to check customer's bags but not like this !! this is thief !!

Bill Rated 4:-
Regular passenger for work between Tornonto, Ottawa, Montreal and Vancouver. I have only been delayed once, for mechanical reasons and find the staff friendly enough. When you ride 'discount' what do people expect? If you want a pillow for an hour flight go ahead and pay $200 more! I'd rather save my cash. They are safe, and I think most of the growing pains are over..

BEWARE OF PRICE SCAMS!!

I have used this airline since 2002 on trips back and forth to Montreal-Vancouver.

When I started booking my trips on-line on their website I noticed a few price "glitches" that were rather strange. As I was in New York this March I had to book a one way from Newark to Vancouver, and when I did it on the web Newark-Vancouver with a stop-over in Toronto the price was $30 more than if I booked the trips seperately, that is Newark-Toronto, Toronto-Vancouver. I did it this way and saved $30 which was well worth checking my bags twice since I was there for three hours!

Something else I noticed recently that has made me furious is that it costs at least $70 MORE to fly Vancouer-Newark (stop-over in Toronto) than it does to fly from Vancouver-Toronto on the SAME plane that goes to Newark!!

I called customer service to ask if I could get off in Toronto if I payed for the Vancouver-Newark price which was under $250 compared with the $70 price jack if I booked Vancouver-Toronto. The customer service representative told me my bags would go to Newark!! Now isn't this ridiculous??! To think that we should pay more to travel a shorter distance in Canada? I have noticed this recent price trend since the beginning of March and it really upsets me. I check the prices almost daily like I check my stocks and I have noticed that this is a consistant trend. I wrote a letter to the customer service and "Emily" did not answer my questions as to why it was more to fly Vancouver-Toronto than Vancouver-Newark using the same plane.

Jetsgo can fool some people some of the time, but not everybody all the time!! I think you should all be aware of this price scam and REFUSE to pay more when booking this route. I would take on carry-on luggage, buy the price Vancouver-Newark then just get off in Toronto. Why the hell should I pay $70 more???

M Brelsford Rated 1:-
I arrived 5 days ago without my luggage. My luggage was located in Winnepeg three days ago yet has still not been returned to me. The best answer I can get out of a customer service rep is "maybe it will be on the next flight". Customer service says they will call and do not. Everytime I call I get an answering machine. My flight was delayed for 2 hours, while we sat on the runway unable to get out of our seats to even use the washroom . The flight attendants were rude and not helpful. Because of the delay my 4.5 our flight was 6.5 hours yet the FA's only came by with the trolley once. The plane wasn't clean. It was and continues to be a nightmare. I can't get help from anyone in retrieving my luggage. It may not be important to the airline, but they should recognize that it's extremely important to me.

May 2 2004 Toronto -> Las Vegas Flight 701

Departure from Toronto was delayed 2 hours, as the incoming crew had gone over their duty hour limit. They found a replacement contingent of flight attendants, but no replacement pilot. He eventually showed up, and we surprisingly departed Toronto.

May 9, 2004 Las Vegas -> Toronto Flight 702

Return flight from Las Vegas was terrible. Arrived at the airport at 9pm for an 11:20pm departure. Informed at check-in that the flight had yet to leave Toronto due to a mechanical problem.

At 11:00pm we were told that the mechanical problem had been fixed but there was now another problem - the crew who were to work the flight were now over their duty time due to the mechanical delay. We were given $10 food vouchers and told we would get a $100 credit towards a future Jetsgo flight. At 11:30pm we were informed that although a crew had been located, they couldn't fuel the plane in Toronto due to a lightning storm.

At midnight we were informed that the flight was fueling and would be on it's way soon. A departure lounge full of tired/irritated passengers let out a sigh of relief. At 4am the flight from Toronto landed. As it was taxiing to the gate, the crew informed the gate attendant (who was enduring unwarranted torrents of abuse all night - lay off the desk staff, they aren't screwing with the flight) that they were now over their duty day and would not be flying the plane back to Toronto.

(The crew, who obviously knew that they would be over their duty hours, didn't inform the Vegas gate that they wouldn't be working a return flight before they left Toronto. Why? I don't know. Gross ignorance and a complete lack of respect for their customers, I expect. Had they informed the Vegas gate of this we could have had a full nights sleep in a hotel, and not had to sit around the airport for HOURS.)

At this point, the airport staff found us rooms at the San Remo hotel ... complete with stained sheets, and a blood stain on the curtains in one girls room!

The flight was rescheduled to leave at 2:15pm the following afternoon. We were told that we had to leave the hotel at 11:00am, which considering that we got into the rooms after 6am was ridiculous. No late check-out was allowed.

We were also informed at the airport that we would be entitled to a free buffet breakfast at the hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were told 'no free food'.

At 11am (now May 10th) we boarded the bus back to the airport. The plane was sitting on the tarmac, fuelled and ready to go.

Boarding time was set at 1:40pm for a 2:15pm departure.

At 1:50pm we boarded. Late. As we boarded we were handed a letter from Jetsgo stating that each of us now had a $200 credit for future Jetsgo travel.

At 2:25pm we left the gate. Late. (Only 10 minutes, but you'd think they might actually leave on time considering everything was ready for them!)

We landed in Toronto at 10pm on May 10th - more than 15 hours delayed, and with much sleep deprivation. The only consolation was that I knew that Jetsgo made ZERO dollars on that flight. I'm not sure if I'll be using the credit. I'm surprised they could even find the plane after it had been left overnight in Vegas.

I booked a 3 flights with my travel agent 3 weeks ago. She quoted me a price and I paid for the flights with my mastercard. She and I received the confirmation with the prices quoted. Upon receiving my m/c bill, i realized they had overcharged me on one leg of the trips. I have been trying to contact them on a daily basis for three weeks. I have sent emails, voice mails, letters etc. and no call back from the customer service desk. I spokw witht the reservation desk and they are so rude. I was so surprised to deal with more than one person that raised there voice with me and would not patch me through to a real person. Considering the line of business Jetsgo is in, you would think they would hire capable people who have a litte customer service training under their belts.

NOGO new LOGO for JETSGO. Happy face with an upside down frown. Our experience with this useless airline was simply awful. We are going to the Air Complaints Commisioner, and if that doesn't work, it's off to small claims court. Can only hope this airline crashes and burns on family day. Screw them.

Kim Rated 1:-
I flew JetsGo back in early February with my family and 19month old daughter. Upon leaving Toronto for Vancouver the flight was delayed over one hour. No apologies or explanations. Upon departure from Vancouver back to Toronto, over a four hour delay. Once again no apologies, nothing offered but a stupid 'smiley face' JetsGo pin button. I was incredibly insulted as were many others. Turbulence on the flight was horendous. Upon arrival in Toronto at 3:30am (remember with a 19month old!) I was the only passenger on the plane who didn't receive any luggage. They lost it. Just last week, after filing a complaint with the Canadian Transport Agency I received compensation for the luggage that has never been found in the measly amount of $250.00. Less than one quarter of the value of what was lost. During the two months of trying to locate my luggage, my calls and emails were mostly ignored, and my complaints dismissed with sarcastic answers. It was only after getting the transport agency involved that I received some compensation. JetsGo's limit of liability for delayed or lost luggage per ticketed passenger is $250.00. They might as well just give you a slap in the face, it's the same thing. I have filed two other complaints at the request of the CTA regarding the standards of service and the limit of liability issues for JetsGo. During my research of the airline I have found several complaints, more than good remarks on the service, delays and lost or damaged luggage. I urge anyone who has had a problem with JetsGo to please file a complaint with the CTA so that we can solve the issues JetsGo seems to have with it's passengers and prevent them from getting away with murder (so to speak). Thankyou...

After four delays of our departure time totalling 12 1/2 hours on our flight from Toronto to St. Petersburg, my wife and I said thanks , but no thanks. We felt we could not depend on this airline to get us back from our holiday on time. We asked for and received a complete refund. We will never book with this airline and will advise all of our friends to avoid this airline as well. Not reliable!!

Incredible price from Vancouver to Toronto return ($280 total). Crew was friendly and the MD 80 was a nice plane. Had an hour delay in Toronto on the return. Apparently the problem is that JetsGo is a smaller airline and doesn't hold an inventory of replacement parts for their aircraft unlike the big players. Hey, I would fly them again any time.

Twice I've been burned by JetsGo's delayed flights. These flights were routine trips from Winnipeg to Toronto, and in both cases there was now apologies or reimbursements from JetsGo. Given what I've seen on this and other related sites, this problem of delays is common for JetsGo. Does JetsGo recognize this? I doubt it. I will never fly with JetsGo again.

I WOULD RATE JETSGO LOWER IF I COULD! When I arrived in Montreal, MY LUGGAGE WAS NOT THERE. I was told my bags might be on another flight arriving later. I BEGGED them to deliver bag asap and phone me as soon as plane with my bag arrived. They assured they me they would. NOBODY CALLED. I CALLED TORONTO - THEY TOLD ME I SHOULD BE TALKING WITH MONTREAL. MONTREAL OFFICE SAID TO CALL TORONTO. NOBODY TOOK RESPONSIBILITY - I am SPENDING MY VACATION TRYING TO GET MY STUFF BACK. In my opinion an airline should bend over backwards to find missing luggage. THEY DIDNT even give me the courtesy of one single phone call until hours into this frustrating saga. I WILL NEVER FLY JETSGO AGAIN AND WILL TELL ALL MY FRIENDS ONLY TO USE THIS SERVICE IF THEY ARE MASOCHISTS. OH AND BY THE WAY - PLANE TRIP WAS NO PICNIC EITHER - THE ENTIRE FLIGHT, WE WERE TREATED TO A HIGH PITCH WHISTLING SOUND. WHEN A PASSENGER ENQUIRED ABOUT NOISE, ATTENDANT SAID SHE THOUGHT IS WAS TO DO WITH CABIN PRESSURE AND WAS ACTUALLY A LITTLE SCARED. NOT PROFESSIONAL! CRAP PLANE - CRAP SERVICE.

My family and I traveled twice on this airline when we flew to Vancouver and back to Toronto. Upon departure from Toronto our flight was delayed one hour and there was no running water on the plane except for the water running from the ceiling as we landed in Vancouver. Upon departure from Vancouver to Toronto, our flight was delayed over three hours with only an explanation of the plane having to refuel. There were no apologies made, the staff seemed irritated as well as the passengers and the flight was very rough coming back with incredible turbulence. Upon landing in Toronto I thought we would crash because the wings were rocking back and forth as the pilot made three attempts to finally land the plane. I was traveling with my 19month old who was seated on my lap. I have never been so terrified in my life! On top of all that my luggage never showed up with me in Toronto. It's now eight days later and still no one has contacted me and they seem irritable when I call them regarding my query. I've been told I have to wait over 10 days before they will give me a claim form. Almost all of my babies winter clothes were in that suitcase along with medication, toys, and things that cannot be replaced. I will never fly this airline again.

I fly b/w Toronto and New York every month...and every time, the plane has been delayed AT LEAST 2 hours!!! When we finally get on the plane, we have to wait another hour (to allow latecomers, line up on the ramp...or some lame excuse). Many of my friends have used Jetsgo to come to visit me in NY, with all of their flights delayed too- one was even delayed 12 hours! Very, very poor service- no excuses for being repeatedly late, time and time again.
