Hi, and welcome to my European travel page. There is no personal advice to be found on my web pages, just information about the Schengen agreement, the various budget airlines operating in Europe and useful follow on links. The links work. I check them regularly. By the way, yes, you can link to the airlines websites by clicking on their logo. If you cannot see a frame on the left hand side, click here.
Look up all routes of airline:- |

NB Can take up to 30 seconds with the larger airlines, please be patient. |
Readers are reminded for all airlines to factor in the cost of getting to and from airports (for example Ryanair fly to a Frankfurt airport that's 1.5 hrs from Frankfurt proper). This may force you to reconsider and fly someone else from a more "normal" yet closer airport. For example, it may be cheaper to get form Dublin to the centre of London to fly Aer Lingus to Heathrow rather than Ryanair to Stansted or Luton. As an example, it costs GBP21.50 for a return train ticket (EUR 30, 30 USD) to get to Stansted, which can be annoying if you only paid GBP20 for your ticket. You might want to try www.skyscanner.net which offers limited pricing details for some of the budget airlines listed below.
A rough guide from Central London (London Transport Zone 1) by public transport:-
Heathrow Airport (LHR); GBP4.60 ; 70 mins
Gatwick Airport (LGW) GBP10.00 ; 40 mins
Stansted Airport (STN) GBP21.50 ; 50 mins

Readers may find cheaper offers (particularly less than 6 weeks from departure) with the established "Big Daddy" airlines. Examples of these airlines include but are not limited to Lufthansa (Germany), British Airways (UK), British Midland (UK), Air France (France), Iberia (Spain), KLM (Holland), SAS (Scandinavia), Alitalia (Italy), Aer Lingus (Ireland). I've deliberately left out Belgium and Switzerland because those are new.
Another useful guide for you may be a worldwide guide to sleeping in airports. This is really good, and can be found here. I recommend it, particularly if you're after a spot to sleep near Stansted (there are no hostels available at present!!!) A worldwide list of hostels is available at www.hostels.com.
